Want to work at the Tutoring Centers?

Complete the following to be considered for a position with the PULSE tutoring team:

  • Fill out ASU Job Application on ASU Student Employment Job Search.
  • List undergraduate courses able to support AND working availability in cover letter.
  • Polytechnic majors must upload a letter of recommendation from an academic advisor or faculty member.
  • Fill out a secondary program application to share with courses you are interested in supporting.

Qualification requirements

  • A cover letter including 2 content area undergraduate courses you are able to support with your availability to work.
  • Documentation that shows you have a cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher and at least a B+ in the courses you wish to tutor. Courses must be taken at ASU or there must be documentation (unofficial transcripts) showing that the courses taken at their previous institution are comparable to the ASU courses you wish to tutor.
  • Availability to work on campus between 8 and 15 hours per week
  • You must have no previous AIP violations.
  • You must be available to attend all mandatory trainings during Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Prior tutoring and/or mentoring experience
  • You must have earned 24 or more credit hours. (sophomore status or higher)
  • Strong verbal communication
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Completion of undergraduate coursework at ASU is preferred
  • Sophomore status or higher is preferred

  • This position requires a high degree of accuracy, dependability, responsibility, initiative, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and vendors
  • Experience with Event Development, Marketing, Salesforce, and other related tasks
  • Familiarity with data tracking and/or processing data, in addition to creation of charts and tables
  • Experience in Leadership roles and ability to facilitate meetings and conduct professional trainings

Steps to locate job postings

  1. Submit an application to the Engineering Tutor portal and Workday
  2. Students who are considered as a candidate will receive an email notice for an interview which includes a one–hour content assessment over courses they wish to support.

    We aim to grade the assessments within one week’s time, but grading may take longer during peak season. The coordinator will be in touch with each candidate regardless of the final decision.
  3. If provided a position, accept the final offer in Workday.
