Graduate Research Opportunities
We have two programs specifically for master’s students, MORE and SURI (see below), and guidance for those international students who are seeking CPT/OPT experiences while studying at ASU.
Of course you will conduct research with your faculty advisor, but did you know you can also conduct research that is service-oriented and solves specific problems?
There’s so much to explore and so may ways to help. Beyond MORE, SURI and CPT/OPT, check out the other opportunities for all students on the research and innovation page.
Master’s Opportunity for Research in Engineering (MORE)
The Master’s Opportunity for Research in Engineering (MORE) is designed to enhance your engineering and technical graduate curriculum by providing hands-on lab experience, faculty mentorship and independent and thesis-based research.
Students in MORE develop an idea under the mentorship of a Fulton Schools faculty member, then apply for funding.
Summer Research Initiative (SURI)
The Fulton Schools at ASU offers summer opportunities for qualified students to gain engineering research experience at a top research university. Participants acquire an in-depth understanding of what it would be like to pursue a PhD degree through a full-time 8-week summer research program.
Participants work under the mentorship of research faculty and have opportunities to network with industry partners.
USA Internship opportunities for international students
As an international student with an F-1 Visa, it is very important to know about Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Through CPT and OPT internships, you may be authorized for off-campus work experiences in your chosen field.
Get inspired
ASU grants a large number of theses and dissertations every year that are archived in electronic format. Theses and dissertations granted by ASU are available to students at ASU Library.
Visit the ASU Electronic Theses and Dissertations webpage to access the collection including theses and dissertations from 2011 to present.
More research opportunities
There is a plethora of research and innovation programs facilitated by the Fulton Schools and ASU. These program are designed to offer practical experiences and improve your thinking and analytical as well as communication skills.
Through these programs, you can access the maker spaces and other project resources provided by the Fulton Schools.
