About

Sun Devil Motorsports – Formula SAE, located at Arizona State University’s Tempe campus, was formed to give students of all majors the ability to use their classroom theory in a real world application. This multidisciplinary organization is run like a small business in order to create a new Formula style race car each year with the purpose of competing at the annual Formula SAE Student competition at Michigan International Speedway.

Sun Devil Motorsports serves to develop the leadership, business, and engineering skills of student members through the annual design, construction, and competition of a formula-style racing vehicle in the Society of Automotive Engineers Formula Collegiate Design Series. The Formula SAE ® Collegiate Design Series competitions challenge teams of university undergraduate and graduate students to conceive, design, fabricate, develop, and compete with small, formula-style vehicles.

SAE International, initially established as the Society of Automotive Engineers, is a U.S.-based, globally active professional and standards organization for engineering professionals in various industries.
