Celebrating Global Engineering Excellence: IEEE Day 2026 at ASU

On October 6, 2026, the IEEE ASU Student Branch joined IEEE members across the globe in celebrating IEEE Day! Held at Hayden Library on the Tempe Campus, this signature annual event brought together students, and engineering enthusiasts for an engaging evening dedicated to technology, community, and innovation. There were a lot of fun activities like jeopardy and blooket etc. The evening was lively and engaging.

With nearly 100 students registered, attendees connected with peers, learned about IEEE’s global impact, and celebrated the spirit of engineering. The event featured inspiring discussions, networking opportunities, and insights into how IEEE ASU helps students launch their technical and professional careers.

Fall 2026 Technical Workshops & Industry Info Sessions

Tech Communication Workshop with IT Misfits

• Date: Monday, October 19, 2026
• Location: Memorial Union – MU 207 Gold Room
• Highlights: Effective communication is just as vital as technical expertise in engineering. Co-hosted with IT Misfits and featured speaker Jerry Black, this interactive workshop helped students refine their technical presentation skills, pitch ideas clearly, and bridge the gap between engineering and business. Plus, attendees enjoyed free pizza while building their professional skillset!

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Workshop with IEEE Phoenix EMBS Chapter

• Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026
• Location: COOR 174
• Highlights: In collaboration with the IEEE Phoenix EMBS Chapter, IEEE ASU hosted an intensive 5-hour professional certification workshop on Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), led by founder Dr. Eric Maass. Students gained valuable methodologies for engineering quality, system design, and process optimization, walking away with practical tools for technical problem-solving.

Texas Instruments Info Session

• Date: Monday, September 14, 2026
• Location: PSH 150
• Highlights: IEEE ASU hosted Texas Instruments for an exclusive campus info session that drew 110 student registrations! Representatives shared insights into internship and full-time career opportunities in semiconductor design, embedded systems, and hardware development, offering valuable networking and direct Q&A for aspiring engineers.

IEEE Emotional Intelligence Workshop

• Date: Thursday, September 10, 2026
• Location: Memorial Union – MU 202 Alumni Lounge
• Highlights: Engineering success requires strong interpersonal dynamics, self-awareness, and leadership. This workshop focused on developing emotional intelligence (EQ) for teamwork, conflict resolution, and career management in technical workplaces.

ARM Information Session

• Date: Wednesday, September 9, 2026
• Location: Physical Sciences H-Wing 150 (PSH 150)
• Highlights: Over 100 students gathered to learn about architecture design, IP licensing, and career pathways at ARM. Representatives highlighted current engineering roles, internship recruitment, and what it takes to build cutting-edge computing hardware.

• Highlights: We kicked off the academic year with our official Fall 2026 kickoff meeting, co-hosted with civil engineering firm Kimley-Horn! Over 140 members registered to discover IEEE ASU’s upcoming events, project teams, committee leadership opportunities, and industry networking pipelines.

IEEE & HKN Feed My Starving Children Volunteering Event

• Date: Friday, September 25, 2026
• Location: Feed My Starving Children (Tempe, AZ)
• Highlights: IEEE ASU teamed up with Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) for a evening of hands-on community service at Feed My Starving Children. Student volunteers worked together to pack nutritional meals destined for children and families in need around the world, making a direct global impact outside the classroom.

Chips and Salsa Lessons

• Date: Tuesday, September 1, 2026
• Location: SDFC Green Gym
• Highlights: IEEE ASU brought together over 90 students for our “Chips and Salsa” social! Members took a break from studying to enjoy free chips and salsa while taking live salsa dancing lessons at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex. It was an amazing evening of dancing, networking, and making new friends to kick off the semester.
