DIYBio

About

DIYbio at ASU is a student-led organization dedicated to exploring the emerging and transformative field of synthetic biology.

We focus on making synthetic biology accessible through our weekly Open Lab program, where students develop practical lab skills through semester-long collaborative projects.

We connect students to Arizona’s growing biotech ecosystem and the global synthetic biology community through opportunities like the international iGEM competition.

Open to all majors and experience levels, we’re a collaborative, beginner-friendly space focused on learning by doing and building cool things together.

Accomplishment

DIYbio’s educational program Open Lab won a Sun Devil way award in 2024
Our IGEM Team has won Gold (2021 and 2024) and Bronze (2022 and 2023) at the IGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris, France.
