DevLabs is ASU’s premier product-building club, created for students who want to turn ideas into real-world solutions. We go beyond just coding—we help you build full-fledged apps and products from scratch, learn how to scale them, and even launch them to real users.

What sets us apart?
While most clubs focus on workshops or tutorials, DevLabs is about hands-on building. You’ll work in teams, tackle real problems, and ship projects that could turn into startups. We also host Devspace, our own product-building competition with cash prizes, mentorship, and a pitch showcase.

Whether you’re into design, dev, business, or product, there’s a place for you here. We value collaboration, creativity, and impact. You’ll get to network with startup founders, attend exclusive tech talks and conferences, and be part of a community that’s serious about turning student projects into the next big thing.

Accomplishment

DevLabs has grown into one of the most active product-focused communities at ASU, now with over 270+ members and counting.

In 2024, we launched Devspace, our very own product-building challenge that drew participation from over 60 students and featured industry mentors, startup founders, and over $1000 in cash prizes.

We also hosted the inaugural DevHacks, one of ASU’s largest student-run hackathons, with 350+ registered hackers, 150+ active participants, and over 50 projects built in just 24 hours. What set DevHacks apart was our judging panel—composed of CEOs, venture capitalists, and founders from the Arizona startup ecosystem—who brought real-world insights and opportunities to our student builders.

DevLabs projects have gone on to win national hackathons, including HackPrinceton and CalHacks, with members building everything from AI tools to hardware innovations.

We’ve had members secure internships at companies like Cloudflare, American Express, and JPMorgan, and receive grants from ASU’s Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute to further develop their products.
