Combat Ready Robotics (CRR)

About

Combat Ready Robotics is a Fulton student organization open to all ASU students. Our goal is to build interest and excitement in robotics through combat robotics. Beginning members have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of robot design and build real 3lb “beetleweight” combat robots in small teams through our fall workshop series, no prior experience required! More advanced members can expand into other weight classes, including 1lb “antweight,” 12lb “hobbyweight,” and 30lb “featherweight” robots, with the goal of traveling to compete with these bots at the national level.

Accomplishments

Through our workshop series, CRR engages upwards of 100 new members each year, all of whom have the opportunity to learn how to design, build, and compete with their own 3lb combat robot. At the conclusion of the workshop series each spring, CRR hosts Sun Devil Smackdown, a beetleweight combat robotics competition for ASU students. CRR also collaborates with two local combat robotics organizations, Arizona Robot Combat (ARC) and East Valley Attack Combat Robotics (EVAC), to host tournaments open to the public, giving experienced builders the opportunity to continue developing and competing with their robots.
