Combat Ready Robotics (CRR)

About

Combat Ready Robotics at ASU is open to any and all ASU students and focuses on building interest and excitement for robotics through the medium of robot combat. Beginning members will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of robot design and build real 3lb “beetleweight” combat robots in small teams, no prior experience required! More advanced members can work on the 12lb “hobbyweight” and 30lb “featherweight” robots, with the goal of traveling and competing with these bots at the national level.

Accomplishments

The club hosts Sun Devil Smackdown, a 3lb combat robotics competition catered to ASU students. In the weeks leading up to the competition, Combat Ready Robotics hosts a series of workshops to teach groups of students how to design, build, and compete with their very own combat robots. Other activities include collaborating with Arizona Robot Combat (ARC) and East Valley Attack Combat Robotics (EVAC), two local combat robotics organizations, to host tournaments that are open to the public.
