About

The ASU Chapter of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is a student-led organization focused on supporting Indigenous students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our mission is to increase the representation of American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and First Nations peoples in STEM by providing academic support, leadership opportunities, professional development, and cultural empowerment.

AISES at ASU is part of a national network that offers access to regional and national conferences, research presentation opportunities, scholarships, mentorship, and networking with top companies and professionals in STEM fields. We value lifelong learning and cultural identity, and we foster a supportive environment where members can grow personally, academically, and professionally.

Impact

Through the quality and reach of its programs and the longevity and devoted commitment of its “family,” AISES is the undisputed leader in STEM opportunity in Indian Country. Members from over 200 tribal nations are represented within AISES, and AISES enjoys the support and partnership of corporate, government, academic, and tribal decision-makers.

Accomplishment

The AISES chapter at ASU has continued to grow in impact and engagement, proudly supporting Indigenous students in STEM. In recent years, our members have:

Presented research at regional and national conferences.

Built lasting partnerships across academic, corporate, and community spaces.

Strengthened relationships with other AISES chapters through collaboration and shared events.

Grown in leadership, with members pursuing regional positions and chapter recognition.

Fostered a strong community focused on cultural identity, academic success, and professional development.

AISES continues representing students from hundreds of tribal nations and is supported by a wide network of academic, industry, and community partners. Our ASU chapter is proud to be part of that ongoing legacy.
